The French have figured it out. Or better, they have not let it go.
They still take time for time, to greet their neighbors with more
than a drive by wave. They dine together each evening. Sundays
are not only for a family feast, but for rest, for walking, laughing, together.
Meandering through the back streets of old towns through out France,
one can still come upon signs that remind us that it is not all about wi-fi
and text messaging. Balance in life is a real key. Remember the message
on this happily found sign.

Flowers On A Stone Wall, Monpazier

After the Wednesday morning market in Monpazier,
I found myself wondering around the outer walls of this notable, well
preserved bastide town, Suddenly I came upon this breath of fresh spring;
intense color lighting up the lunch hour.

Jardin Marqueyssac, is a well deserved destination. Acres of boxwood
trails, with spectacular views to magical castles, perch high above
the Dordogne. Green scents fill the air. But wait, a chateau doorway, framed
in the perfume and subtle color of pastel roses!

Dated Eggs In An Antique Coffee Bowl

These eggs were given to me by my neighbors Natalie and Fabrice. They
dated them to mark their freshness. I bought a very old coffee bowl at a brocante
shop in a nearby town and the eggs were small enough to put in. The site was
pure simple poetry and I was moved to make this photograph. I find the light
and the shapes to be very meditative.
