Winter Idyll No.Three- The OED defines and idylll as a short poem or piece of writing describing a picturesque scene or moment in country life. When light is low and temperatures cold, my thoughts turn to interior scenes as I create visual poems from French objets. Winter light is fleeting in Northern Europe at this time of year. The fields are cut, the walnuts hulled and what is there to do but sit by the fire and gaze out at the gray countryside. Time stands still but soon it will jump to life, another two months until spring.
